Additional Requirements and Information:

1)  Must be from the Greater Washington D.C. area; 2) Must be Black, Indigenous, and/or student of color (BIPOC); 3) May be a Voice, Acting, Dance, and/or Instrumental student;  4) May be between the ages 11-18 or  an Adult; 5) Must plan to enroll in a Young Artists of America at Strathmore program; 6) Video (YouTube) audition required.

NOTE:

• Students select only ONE of the disciplines below and record the following elements in ONE category only:

  * Voice – 2 contrasting songs (Entire song or 32-bars are acceptable. Musical theatre or classical is preferred, but any genre of music is fine).
  * Acting – 2 contrasting monologues, contemporary and/or classical.
  * Dance – 1 minute prepared dance solo in any style.
  * Orchestra – Please perform 3 to 4 minutes of a solo (grade 4 or higher), making sure to show off your musical and technical abilities. Feel free to skip around the piece as needed.

• Auditions can be recorded on a smart phone and then saved on YouTube as either public or unlisted.

• Recipients notified NLT December 31, 2020.
