1) Must be enrolled in an accredited U.S. medical school or in master’s or equivalent programs; 2) Must be researching cardiovascular disease topics within basic, clinical, or population sciences; 3) Must be a member of the AHA/ASA at the time of application; 4) Preceptor (to guide the applicant during the scholarship period) required; 5) Preceptor Statement required; 6) Student Scholar Statement required; 7) Curriculum Vitae and Bibliography (Applicant and Preceptor) required; 8) Up to three (3) additional recommendation letters outside of the Preceptor’s Statement may be submitted.
NOTE:
o The top recipient of the Student Scholarships in Cardiovascular Disease and Stroke will be designated the Howard S. Silverman Scholar. The Howard S. Silverman Scholar will receive an additional $1000.00 stipend.
o Recommended that interested students become AHA members NLT February 24 (annually).
