1) Interested students can compete as an individual or as a member of a two or three person team; 2) Must be enrolled in one (1) of the following:
• High school (grades 9-12) in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Guam, U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Wake and Midway Islands, or the Marianas;
• Department of Defense Education Activity (“DoDEA”) school;
• Foreign school as an exchange student or because your
parent or guardian lives and works abroad;
•Homeschool, provided that signatures are obtained from the school district responsible for such programs. applicant’s state does not require district supervision, the parent or guardian responsible for the homeschooling must sign the appropriate forms.
3) Research project required; 4) Abstract and Executive Summary required; 5) Mentor form required; 5) Scholarships awarded as follows: Scholarships for winning projects range from $1,000.00 to $100,000.00.(Effective in 2017, the following new enhanced prizing structure will be in effect for national awards: first place – $100,000.00, second place – $50,000.00 ,all other Finalists – $25,000.00.)

• Students submitting individual projects must be in good standing, enrolled in, and be in their last year of high school (grade 12).
• Women and minorities are encouraged to apply!
