1) Must be enrolled in an accredited U.S. medical school or in master’s or equivalent programs; 2) Must be researching cardiovascular disease topics within basic, clinical, or population sciences; 3) Must be a member of the AHA/ASA at the time of application (https://professional.heart.org/professional/ProfessionalMembership/membership-tiers.jsp); 4) Preceptor (to guide the applicant during the scholarship period) required; 5) Preceptor Statement required; 6) Student Scholar Statement required; 7) Curriculum Vitae and Bibliography (Applicant and Preceptor) required; 8) Abstract for the International Stroke Conference (“ISC”) travel grant required; 9) Up to three (3) additional recommendation letters outside of the Preceptor’s Statement may be submitted; 10) Scholarship awarded as follows: $2,000.00 scholarship and travel grant to ISC (for selected applicants who submitted abstract).
