1) Most qualified applicants will have a min. 3.8 GPA (unweighted) or min 4.0 GPA (weighted); 2) Frederick Douglass Distinguished Scholars Program application required; 3) Scholarship awarded as follows:  Full-tuition/fees/room/board/travel for up to four (4) academic years; 4) Renewable for up to three (3) additional academic years (4 total) (provided recipient maintains satisfactory academic progress and remains otherwise qualified).
NOTE:
  • The Frederick Douglass Distinguished Scholars Program is considered a special academic program.  To apply for a special academic program, you will need to create an account on the Future Eagle Portal. After logging into the portal, navigate to the “Apply Online” tab to access the Special Program Applications.
  • Interested students may apply during their final year of high school or within four (4) years of receiving your high school diploma/GED.
  • First generation college applicants, athletes, and applicants with an ethnically diverse background are strongly urged to apply.
  • Standardized test scores are optional.
  • Application typically available August (annually).
  • Recipients notified NLT April 1 (annually).
