1) Min. 3.0/4.0 GPA; 2)  Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older as of August 1, 2018;  3)  Must be enrolled/enrolling in a regionally accredited U.S. college or university; 4) Must be pursuing a STEM (“Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics”) related major in one (1) of the following disciplines:

Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering
Biosciences
Chemical Engineering
Chemistry
Civil Engineering
Cognitive, Neural, and Behavioral Sciences
Computer and Computational Sciences and Computer Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Geosciences
Industrial and Systems Engineering (technical tracks only)
Information Sciences
Materials Science and Engineering
Mathematics
Mechanical Engineering
Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering
Nuclear Engineering
Oceanography
Operations Research (technical tracks only)
Physics

5) Demonstrated participation in extracurricular and community service activities;  6) SAT/ACT scores required (undergraduate students);  7) GRE scores required (graduate students);  8) Reference letters must be on official letterhead;  9) Transcript(s) required;  10) Unofficial transcript(s) accepted; 11) Scholarship awarded as follows: Full-tuition, fees, paid summer internships and a $25,000.00 – $38,000.00 cash stipend per academic year. Recipients also receive health insurance, and miscellaneous allowances.

NOTE:

o For each academic year of a recipient’s award, he/she is required to commit to one year (12 months) of civilian employment with the DoD.

o Graduating high school seniors are not eligible for this scholarship award.
