1) Must be thirteen (13) years of age or older; 2) Must be in grades 7th-12th; 3) Essay (500 words or less) addressing writing prompt required; 4) Essays must be submitted through the submission page; 5) Scholarships awarded as follows: Three (3) $5,000.00 Upstander Scholarships will be awarded to students in 7th-12th grade and their teacher will also receive a $500.00 Classroom Award to be used for a classroom project of the teacher’s choice. At least one (1) $5,000.00 Upstander Scholarship will be designated for a graduating high school senior. Seven (7) $1,000.00 Upstander Awards will also be awarded to students in 7th-12th grade and their teacher will also receive a $250.00 Classroom Award to be used for a classroom project of the teacher’s choice.
NOTE:
o Application available March 1 (annually).
o Finalists will be revealed NLT April 30, 2018 and will be announced publicly on or around Monday, May 8, 2018.
