Additional Requirements and Information:

1)  Min. 1.8 GPA; 2) Must be twenty-four (24) years of age or younger; 3) Must be a graduate from a high school located within the City of Flint, Michigan or receive a GED in the City of Flint, Michigan, or after 2018; 4) Must reside within the City of Flint, Michigan at the time of graduation;  5) Must be enrolled/enrolling in a qualifying college or university;*  6) FAFSA required;  7) Scholarships will automatically renew for students who meet the following expectations:

• Remain continuously enrolled as a full-time student (24 credit hours per year);

• Meet with their Success Coach on a regular basis;

• Achieve min. academic standards required for receiving financial aid, which include grade point average and successful completion of courses;

8) Scholarship awarded as follows:  The scholarship covers between 25 – 100% of tuition based on the number of years a recipient has attended an eligible high school and lived in the City of Flint, Michigan.

NOTE:

• Flint Promise scholarships are available to all students who meet the requirements listed above – regardless of household income.

• *As of Fall 2019, Flint Promise partners with Kettering University, Mott Community College and the University of Michigan-Flint, with plans to expand to other colleges and universities.

• GED graduates who have lived in Flint for one or more years are eligible to receive 30 percent of the scholarship toward their college education.
