Additional Requirements and Information:

1)  Applicant must meet one (1) of the following criteria:

• Have been in the care and custody of New Jersey Department of Children and Families Child Protection & Permanency (formerly “DYFS”) in an out-of-home placement for a cumulative of nine (9) months or more following the applicant’s 16th birthday

• Have been in an out-of-home placement for a cumulative of eighteen (18) months or more following applicant’s 14th birthday

• Reside in or have resided in an independent living arrangement, or Transitional Living Program

• Have been adopted through New Jersey CP&P following applicant’s 12th birthday

• Have been in a CP&P out-of-home placement and left to enter KLG following the youth’s 16th birthday

2) Must be between the ages of 16-23; 3) Must possess a high school diploma or be a GED recipient; 4) Must plan to attend an accredited college, university or vocational/career school; 5) Demonstrated financial need; 6) FAFSA required; 7) Personal statement required; 8) College, university vocational/career school acceptance letter/proof of enrollment required; 9) Transcript(s) (if prior enrollment in college/vocational school) required; 10) Unofficial transcript(s) accepted.
