Beginning this September, the State of Idaho will offer a streamlined college application process, Apply Idaho, for graduating Idaho high school seniors! In September, the Idaho State Board of Education will launch Apply Idaho! This easy and fast process initiates with graduating Idaho seniors receiving letters notifying them of their direct admission to up to eight (8) public Idaho colleges and universities (Boise State University, Idaho State University, University of Idaho, Lewis-Clark State College, North Idaho College, College of Southern Idaho, College of Western Idaho and the College of Eastern Idaho).
After students receive their direct admission notification(s), they’ll be directed to the “Next Steps” website where they’ll fill out a very short application requiring only the most basic information! While the “Next Steps” application is not currently available, the site features a demo application video, which DOES NOT have an essay portion (We KNOW students will LOVE that)! It should take no more than a few minutes to complete and it’s just that easy! Students are also given an opportunity to provide information, e.g., first generation college student status, that may result in future scholarship offers! As if that doesn’t sweeten the pot enough already, the application fees are waived using the Apply Idaho process!
Apply Idaho is all part of Idaho’s effort to actively encourage Idaho students to enroll in college following their high school graduation. To learn more, Idaho students should check out the “Next Steps” website now and once again after receiving their direct admissions letter!
