1) Must be between the ages of 13-18; 2) Must be an Irvine Independent School District high school student or be currently enrolled in high school and residing in the City of Irvine; 3) Must organize one (1) community service project which benefits a current Orange County, California based non-profit organization; 4) Qualifying community service project must be a hands-on community service project which lasts at least 2.5 hours (and no more than 4 hours.); 5) Qualifying project must be one that can be completed in one (1) day and involves live volunteers. Examples include working in a soup kitchen, beach or park clean-up, collecting food, mentoring, reading to children, or any other hands-on project where volunteers can provide service; 6) Scholarship award payable as follows: $1,000.00 scholarship to student and $1,000.00 to nonprofit community organization of recipient’s choosing.
