Additional Requirements and Information:

1) Must be nominated by a Johns Hopkins University faculty member who will be the scholar’s primary mentor; 2) May be a graduate student from Johns Hopkins University or other institution(s) who have completed a Doctoral degree or will complete their requirements by the fellowship start date; a current Johns Hopkins University postdoctoral scholar, or individual coming to Johns Hopkins University with postdoctoral training from another institution, who received their degrees within the last four (4) years; or be a professional applicant (who have an MD, JD, etc.) who are within four (4) years of completing their professional or clinical training; 3) Curriculum Vitae required; 4) Personal statement required; 5) Letter of support from a faculty mentor required; 6) Fellowship award payable as follows: Fellowship provides support for up to one (1) year of salary (using the NIH NRSA scale), fringe benefits, and a small research award.

NOTE:

O Nominations are welcome from any area of study, and priority consideration will be given to nominees in fields where there are fewer women or underrepresented minorities and to individuals whose funding has been exhausted.

O Applications for the fellowship MUST be submitted by the Johns Hopkins University faculty member who will serve as the postdoctoral scholar’s primary mentor (team mentoring is encouraged but not required). Applications directly from candidates will NOT be accepted.

O The Provost’s Diversity Postdoctoral Fellowship Program will prepare postdocs for tenure-track faculty positions at JHU or peer institutions, particularly in fields where there are fewer women and/or underrepresented minorities. Awardees will receive competitive postdoctoral fellowships, as well as comprehensive career and professional development.
