Additional Requirements and Information:

1)  Must have completed at least freshman year of college (preference for applicants who are undergraduate juniors); 2) Ability to tutor high school AP Mathematics and/or Science required; 3) Demonstrated participation in extracurricular and community service activities; 4) Demonstrated experience in leadership, teamwork, decision-making, and working with diverse groups of individuals; 5) Internship awarded as follows: $4,000.00 compensation, plus housing and meals. Recipients are responsible for their transportation.

NOTE:

O The Summer Math and Science Honors Academy (“SMASH”) is a free of cost, STEM-intensive college preparatory program for underrepresented high school students of color. 

O  The SMASH Academy summer program will take place at University of California-Berkeley (“Berkeley”), Stanford University and the University of California-Los Angeles (“UCLA”).

O This opportunity is an approximately six (6) week live-in assignment.
