Scholarships for Military Service Members & their Dependents
The Scholarship Center is proud to have former military officers as instrumental and critical members of its management team! Consistent with our sincere gratitude to the brave men, women and families who serve our country both here and overseas, we have compiled a list of some of the many generous scholarships available to them and/or their dependents!

Military Order of the Purple Heart (“MOPH”) Scholarship:
This scholarship is reserved for Purple Heart recipients, direct descendants of a member of the MOPH or of a veteran killed in action or who died of wounds from military combat. Spouses and widow(er)s of a recipient of the Purple Heart are also eligible for this scholarship award. Each year, the MOPH Scholarship Program awards approximately eighty (80) scholarships to Purple Heart recipients and their spouses, children, and grandchildren.

Armed Forces Communications & Electronics Association (“AFCEA”) Educational Foundation Scholarship:
The AFCEA Educational Foundation offers several generous scholarships for military veterans and their families. There are six general categories of scholarships available for undergraduate and graduate students. Deadlines vary, but the 2023 application will be available January 2023.

Army Women’s Foundation (“AWF”) Scholarship:
The AWF offers scholarships for female active duty soldiers and veterans, as well as their children. Scholarships are valued at up to $2,500.00. Typically, the Foundation will again begin accepting scholarship applications July 1st annually.

Fisher House Foundation Scholarship Programs:
The Fisher House Foundation offers a number of different scholarships for military dependents, including a scholarship for dependents of soldiers who have died in combat, or who have died or have become disabled through their active military service. The applications for the Heroes’ Legacy Scholarship and the Scholarships for Military Children open December annually.

Pat Tillman Foundation (“Tillman Scholars”) Scholarship:
The Tillman Scholars program offers scholarships for active-duty service members, veterans and military spouses. Applicants must be enrolled full-time at an accredited college or university and this scholarship is available for undergraduate, graduate and professional level programs. The application for the next class of Tillman Scholars will be available February annually.

Military Officers Association of America (“MOAA”) Scholarships and Grants:
MOAA offers several scholarships for military dependents seeking their first undergraduate degree. The scholarship application becomes available in November annually and is due annually on March 1st.

The Corvis Foundation Scholarship:
The Corvis Foundation offers $50,000.00 scholarships for graduating high school seniors of active duty military service members at select installations and bases, as well as a generous $5,000.00 educational grant for spouses of active duty military service members. Application available November 1 annually.

Military Enhanced Recognition Incentive and Tribute (“MERIT”) Scholarships:
The MERIT scholarship is administered through the New York State Higher Education Service Corporation. It is an up to full-tuition scholarship available for the children and spouses of qualifying military service members who were New York State residents killed or seriously/permanently injured “while engaged in hostilities or training for hostilities.”
