Additional Requirements and Information:

1) Must be currently enrolled (full-time or part time) law student (which include J.D., L.L.M., Ph.D., and S.J.D. candidates) in an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited law school; 2) Unpublished essay, on any issue(s) related to Animal Law, no more than twenty-five (25) pages, required; 3) Cover letter with entrant’s name, law school, expected year of graduation, mailing address, email address, and telephone number required; 4) Scholarships awarded as follows:

• 1st Place: $1,000.00 & Certificate of Achievement

• 2nd Place: $500.00 & Certificate of Achievement

• 3rd Place: Certificate of Recognition

NOTE: 

o  Essay submissions must be submitted in Microsoft Word format and emailed to Kim Francis at kfrancis@nysba.org, NLT deadline.

o  Students expecting to receive their degree in 2021 are eligible for consideration.

o  Submissions must be written by one (1), and only one (1) student, i.e., papers jointly written by more than one student or that have been subjected to line editing by professors or advisors shall not be considered.
