Additional Requirements and Information:

1)  Original literary composition in English in the category of memoir/personal essay required; 2) Must be enrolled in a public U.S. high school (includes the District of Columbia and all U.S. territories); 3) Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or younger; 4) Must plan to attend an accredited college or university upon graduation; 5) Scholarship award payable as follows:  $10,000.00 scholarship award will be paid over a four (4) year period.

NOTE:

• Only the first 1000 applications will be accepted.

• Only one (1) entry per applicant.

• Seventy-five (75) Honorable Mention recipients will receive a “Creativity Kit” gift from Penguin Random House.
