| Additional Requirements and Information: | 1) Must be a “student of color; ” 2) Must reside in or be enrolled at a university or college in Los Angeles, Orange or Ventura County, California (or, if applicant is enrolled in college in another state, have graduated high school in Los Angeles, Orange or Ventura County, California); 3) Must be pursuing a degree leading to a career in the field of Journalism; 4) Must have completed at least freshman year in college and have at least one (1) semester to complete in a Journalism program after the award of the scholarship; 5) Proof of enrollment or acceptance in a Journalism program required; 6) Demonstrated participation in extracurricular and community service activities; 7) Resume required; 8) Letter of recommendation must be from a professor or instructor; 9) Cover letter required; 10) Journalism samples required.
NOTE: o Scholarship funding is renewable, but renewal is not automatic. Previous winners who continue to meet eligibility requirements may apply to renew their awards.
