|Additional Requirements and Information:||1) Must be enrolled in a high school OR be twenty (20) years of age or younger and enrolled in a high school correspondence/GED program; 2) 700-1000 word essay required describing an act of political courage by a U.S. elected official that occurred during or after 1917, 3) Must have a min. of five (5) sources; 4) Essays must include an acceptable bibliography; 5) Nomination by current or former qualifying teacher required; 6) Previous recipients are not eligible to apply for this scholarship award; 7) Awards are as follows: |

Finalists: $ 1,000.00
Semi-Finalists: $ 100.00
