Additional Requirements and Information:

1) Must be in 9th, 10th, 11t or 12th grade; 2) May be enrolled in a U.S. public, private or parochial high school or home study program; 3) Must attend school in the same state as the sponsoring VFW Auxiliary; 4) Must be eighteen (18) years of age or younger; 5) Original artwork depicting the applicant’s vision of patriotism, no smaller than 8” x 10,” but no larger than 18” x 24,” on paper or canvas required; 6) Artistic submission may be in water color, pencil, pastel, charcoal, tempera, crayon, acrylic, pen-and-ink or oil may be used; 7) Digital art and photography is NOT accepted; 8) Scholarship awards payable as follows:

• First Place: $10,000.00
• Second Place: $ 5,000.00
• Third Place: $ 2,500.00
• Fourth Place: $ 1,500.00
• Fifth Place: $ 500.00
• Sixth Place: $ 500.00
• Seventh Place: $ 500.00
• Eighth Place: $ 500.00

NOTE: Students must submit entries to a local VFW Auxiliary Scholarships Chairman by March 31 (annually).
