Scholarship offered through the Water Environment Federation to high school students.

Additional Requirements and Information:

1)  Must be fifteen (15) years of age NLT August 1 of competition year; 2) Water-related science project required; 3) Teams of up to three (2) students may enter; 4) Only one (1) person from a team should submit the project online, but must complete the information for all team members; 5) Scholarships awarded as follows:

o SJWP Regional winners will receive:

  • A SJWP regional certificate

  • A nomination to compete in the SJWP state competition

o SJWP State winners will receive:

  • An all-expense paid trip to compete in the national competition held during the third weekend of June at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

  • A SJWP state medal

  • Some states present their state winners with additional awards.

o The SJWP National winner will receive:

  • A $10,000.00 scholarship and the national trophy (per project)

  • An all-expense-paid trip to Stockholm, Sweden, to compete in the SJWP international competition.

o The SJWP International winner will receive:

  • $15,000.00 and the international crystal trophy

  • $5,000.00 award given to the winning student’s school.

NOTE:

o State deadlines may vary. For specific information on your state, consult the State Contacts, Deadlines and Awards List.

o Projects should be aimed at enhancing the quality of life through improvement of water quality, water resources management, or water and wastewater treatment.

o All students must enter the State SJWP Competition first. National competition entries are open to state winners only.

o State winners will be announced online at www.sjwp.org NLT May 3, 2018.

o At least one (1) representative of team will be required to attend the SJWP National Competition held during the 3rd week of June 2018, and if chosen as the U.S. Winner at least one (1) representative of the team will be required to attend the SJWP International Competition from August 25 – August 30, 2018 in Stockholm, Sweden.
