Additional Requirements and Information:
1) Min. 3.0/4.0 GPA; 2) Must reside in an SCE service area; 3) Must plan to attend an accredited U.S. four (4) year college or university upon graduation; 4) Must plan to enroll in a qualifying major in Computer and Information Services, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, Natural Resources and Conservation, and/or Physical Sciences; 5) Demonstrated financial need; 6) Priority consideration given to applicants who are the  first generation in their family to attend college; 7) Parent(s)/guardian(s) most recent IRS Form 1040 required; 8) Applicant Appraisal required; 9) Photograph required; 10) Transcript(s) required; 11) Scholarship award payable in the following installments: $12,500.00 per academic years for up to four (4) academic years; 12) Renewable for up to three (3) additional academic years (4 total).
  • In 2022, scholarship award will increase $10,000.00 (from $40,000.00 to $50,000.00).
  • Application available October 2022.
  • Recipients notified NLT April (annually).
  • SCE encourages students from underserved communities, underrepresented groups and first-generation college students to apply for the scholarship program.
  • All Edison Scholars recipients are eligible for a paid summer internship with Southern California Edison upon completing the first year of school.
  • Recipients attending a United States Military Academy will receive a one time non-renewable award.
